Combination sensor system EO (eddy-current - optical sensor)
Field of application: Multi-layer (coextruded) film
The combination sensor system EO 14 acquires the top of the film with a laser micrometer. Simultaneously, the eddy current detector measures the surface of the roller and, by implication, the bottom of the material. The thickness of the measured material is determined by taking the difference between the signals.
Technical data:
- Measuring gap 15 mm
- Material thickness 0.05 -10 mm
- Linearity < 5um
- Resolution <1 um
- Measuring rate 4 kHz
- Material independent
Combination sensor system EC (eddy-current - capacitive sensor)
Field of application: Homogeneous, single-layer film
The combination sensor system EC 5 consists of a capacitive and an eddy current displacement sensor which are accommodated together on one axis in a sensor housing. The eddy current sensor measures the distance to the measurement roller and therefore compensates for changes in the mechanical measurement setup, whereas the capacitive displacement sensor acquires the material thickness without making contact.
Technical data:
- Measuring gap 5 mm
- Material thickness 0.01 - 2.5 mm
- Linearity < ±1 um (software-linearization)
- Resolution < 1 um
- Frequency response 6 kHz (-3 dB)
- Material dependent

Combination sensor system ET (eddy-current - triangulation sensor)
Field of application: Foam material
With the combination sensor system ET 12 a precision ceramic ball with a low load pressure is passed over the material. The ball is acquired with the triangulation sensor which then indirectly measures the surface contour of the material. The eddy current sensor in turn measures the top of the roller.
Technical data:
- Measuring range 12 mm, thickness variation 0.5 mm
- Linearity < ±5 um
- Resolution < 1.5 um
- Frequency response 10 kHz (-3 dB)
- Material independent
