It consists of 14 highresolution precision stages, nine linearstages, two lifting stages, two goniometersand one rotation stage. Each fiber block uses two linear stages (x, z),one lifting stage (y) and one gonimeter (Rz).The waveguide block consists of one linearstage (x) and one rotation stage (Ry). The lastfour linear stages move the two high resolutiondigital industrial cameras. A third industrial digital camera with alower magnification (overview camera) ismounted in a fixed position. The three holdersfor the components are temperature controlledand thermally isolated from the positioningstages. The holders use vacuum as well as amechanical clamp to hold the components.The power drives for the stages, the temperaturecontrollers, the laser source, the optical powermeter and the PC are integrated in a 19” rack. The complete system is controlled by a PXI-computer from National Instruments, the software is written in LabVIEW. w ww.micos.ws
