Brakes
Caliper Disc Brakes: Available in floating or fixed designs, suitable for primary, emergency, and secondary braking in industries such as agriculture, construction, mining, and forestry. Key series include:
  • 515 Series: Floating design with Belleville springs for application and hydraulic pressure for release.
  • 520 Series: Fixed design with opposing pistons, using hydraulic pressure for application.
  • 530 Series: Floating design similar to 515 but with hydraulic apply options.
Multiple Disc Brakes: Fully enclosed units using coil springs and multiple friction discs, ideal for parking brakes or motor braking in low-speed vehicles.
Brake Actuation
Master Cylinders: Single piston, straight-bore type with options for integral reservoirs. Two-stage master cylinders offer large piston volume and high pressure capabilities.
Slave and Wheel Cylinders: Small bore, short stroke cylinders for remote clutch and brake actuation, available in various strokes and mountings.
Two Fluid Actuators: Combine booster and master cylinder sections, allowing different fluids in each section, enhancing output pressure.
Valves and Controls
MICO offers a variety of valves and control systems designed to integrate with their braking solutions, ensuring precise control and reliability in demanding environments.
Specifications
MICO's brake actuation systems can develop brake line pressures up to 2500 PSI. Two-stage master cylinder bore diameter combinations include 1.75 inch over 0.875 inch, 1.75 inch over 1 inch, 1.75 inch over 1.25 inch, or 2.25 inch over 1.25 inch. Power brake actuators are designed for vehicles with open center hydraulic systems, requiring a supply of 0.7 to 4 GPM at 335 PSI to achieve the set brake limit pressure. The master cylinder bore diameter is 1.06 inch, using only hydraulic oil.
Air/Hydraulic Actuators
These actuators combine a large surface area air chamber with a smaller diameter bore master cylinder or actuator, allowing the use of a pressurized air source to produce high hydraulic pressure. Suitable for various vehicles and industrial applications, bore diameters range from 1.13 to 1.75 inches, with effective strokes varying from 1.38 to 2.45 inches. Air chamber sizes range from 12 in² to 36 in².
Remote Actuators
MICO Remote Actuators are used to actuate a brake or clutch from two locations using two master cylinders, preventing fluid transfer between systems. Available in hand, foot, or hydraulically operated models, they can be used with a remote reservoir. Bore sizes range from 1 to 1.5 inches, with effective strokes from 0.47 to 2.25 inches.
Brake Locks
MICO Brake Locks are supplemental brake holding devices used with a vehicle's mechanical parking brake. They include a low-pressure warning switch connected to an alarm system. Types include lever locks, twist locks, cable locks, dual cable locks, and electric brake locks, each designed for specific applications and configurations.
Valves
MICO offers modulating brake valves for directional control of brake system pressure, providing a "pedal feel" proportional to brake system pressure. These valves are available in spool and poppet designs, with single and tandem configurations. Accumulator charge valves supply oil to an accumulator from an open center circuit on demand, with some models featuring built-in relief valves.
Controls
MICO provides electrohydraulic components and systems, including electronic pedal configurations, sensing and switch options, digital valve drivers, and electrohydraulic brake valves. These components are used in applications such as drive-by-wire, electrohydraulic braking, and remote control operation.
Throttle Control Applications
Throttle control applications provide force feedback proportional to pedal rotation, including rotary sensors that offer analog outputs proportional to pedal rotation, with various configurations and sensing options available.
EBV Series Electrohydraulic Brake Valves
These valves modulate output pressures up to 207 bar (3000 PSI) in proportion to input current, providing hydraulic power for normal and emergency braking in electrohydraulic systems, ABS, and traction control systems.
ABS and Traction Control Systems
Designed for vehicles requiring up to 8-channels of ABS and traction control, these systems enhance vehicle stability, traction, and reduce stopping distances under extreme conditions.
Transducers and Speed Sensors
These components sense brake pressure and wheel speed for ABS and traction control systems.
Keypad and Panellettes
A CAN-based pack of eight switches with three LEDs per switch, used for control interfaces.
Hydraulic Throttle Controls
MICO Throttle Controls use hydraulics to control mechanical throttles, offering design flexibility not available with other systems.
Switches
MICO offers a range of pressure, vacuum, and temperature switches, including elastomer diaphragm and piston style pressure switches, as well as differential switches.
Quadrigages and Digital Pressure Gauges
Quadrigages measure hydraulic, air, and vacuum pressure, while digital pressure gauges offer versatile and economical solutions meeting ASME B40.7 standards.
Fluid Reservoirs and Check Valves
Fluid reservoirs are available in rust-proof metal and fire-resistant polyallomer designs. Check valves allow free flow of hydraulic fluid in one direction while maintaining residual pressure.
MOBEUS Braking Components
The MOBEUS line integrates electronics for improved performance in braking systems, including ABS, Traction Control, and Electronic Stability Control for off-highway equipment.
Markets Served
MICO serves various markets including agriculture, construction, mining, military, and more, providing custom-engineered braking solutions.

Brake Actuation Master Cylinders ® MICO Master Cylinders are single piston, straightbore type with a return spring, and are available with or without an integral reservoir. Most cylinders are available as brake uid or mineral base hydraulic oil models and in a variety of mounting styles. MICO® Two-stage Master Cylinders are integrally designed to incorporate the advantage of a large piston for uid volume and a small piston for high pressure. Transfer from the volume piston to the pressure piston is accomplished by means of a metered pressure relief valve. Two-stage Master Cylinders are commonly...

Brake Actuation Two Fluid Actuators ® The MICO Two Fluid Actuators combine a booster section with a master cylinder section in a single unit. These actuators allow the booster section to use one type of uid and the master cylinder section another. This feature enables the booster section to be powered by an existing mineral base hydraulic oil circuit while maintaining use of DOT brake uid in the rest of the system. With the same pedal effort, MICO® Two Fluid Actuators provide higher output pressure than non-boosted master cylinders. Boosted Straight Bore Master Cylinders Can develop brake line...
