ROBA®-servostop®
ROBA®-servostop®
The spring applied safety brake for
Performance characteristics
• Extremely small mass moment of inertia
• Simple and easy installation without complicated and time-consuming alignment work
• Non-sensitive against tension fluctuations
• Non-sensitive against temperature-induced expansion, can be used without restrictions, even B-bearing-side
• High permitted friction work
motors
Brake Function
Installation Example
In regulated operation
The brake holds the axis in position only if the drive is switched off or the servo motor is not regulated. Holding operation for brake.
e.g. The load is held on a vertical axis when the drive is switched off.
EMERGENCY STOP occurrence (not regulated)
e.g. Power failure causing the system to stop.
In this case, the brake takes on the function of delaying the
axes.
Friction work for the brake.
EMERGENCY STOP occurrence (regulated)
e.g. activation of the EMERGENCY STOP switch. The servo motor regulates and delays the axis.

ROBA®-servostop® in the B-bearing shield of a motor:
Due to their special construction, temperature-induced expansion and bearing backlash have no negative influence on the brake function and reliability.
