MASTER BOND POLYMER SYSTEM EP3HT
One Component, Heat Curing Epoxy Adhesive/Sealant Featuring High Shear Strength and Good Temperature Resistance Along With a Very Rapid Cure Speed
Product Description
Master Bond Polymer System EP3HT is a one component system featuring high shear strength, good temperature resistance along with a fast cure schedule. Typical curing schedules are 5-10 minutes at 300°F (150°C) or 20-30 minutes at 250°F (°121C) (minimum cure temperature is 235°F-240°F (113°C-116°C)). Tensile shear strengths in excess of 2,100 psi are readily obtained after these fast cure times. EP3HT requires no mixing prior to use and has unlimited working life at room temperature. The service temperature range is -60°F to 400°F (-51 °C to 205°C). It is 100% reactive and does not contain any solvents or volatiles. A non-drip version called EP3HTND-2 which can be applied to vertical surfaces without sagging or dripping is also available.
Master Bond Polymer System EP3HT produces durable, high strength bonds which are remarkably resistant to severe thermal cycling and many chemicals including water, oil, fuels and most organic solvents even upon prolonged exposures. Adhesion to metals, glass, ceramics, vulcanized rubbers and many plastics is excellent. The cured adhesive/sealant is a superior thermal and electrical insulator. Its color is yellow to brown, although other colors are also available. The convenient handing and rapid cure speed of EP3HT makes it ideally suited for demanding manufacturing applications. The cured adhesive fully meets the requirements of Federal Specification MMM-A-132.
Product Advantages
• Single component system; no mixing prior to use. Unlimited working life at room temperature.
• Easy application; contact pressure only required during simple heat cure; adhesive spreads evenly and smoothly.
• Very rapid cure schedules, e.g. 5-10 minutes at 300°F (150°C) or 20-30 minutes at 250°F (120°C).
• High tensile shear strength.
• Bonds well to a wide variety of substrates.
• Broad service temperature range of -60°F to 400°F (-51°C to 205°C).
• Good thermal and electrical insulating properties and chemical resistance profile.
• Ideal for rigorous manufacturing applications.
