In 1921, the light-alloy piston developedby the brothers Hermann and Ernst Mahle wasproduced in volume. Air and oil filters followed inorder to protect the piston from dirt and dust. The success story of MAHLE begins with inno-vation and continues with cutting-edge technol-ogy which leads us to be first to market. Forexample:
â– 1921, first volume production of light-alloypistons in Europe â– 1976, low-pressure, die-cast aluminum engine blocks ready for volume production â– 1985, production of composite camshafts â– 2000, pistons with cooled ring carriers enter volume production â– 2002, first plastic oil filter for passenger cardiesel engines â– 2004, first complete engine The successfull innova-tions by MAHLE are a result of the pleasure our developers get from the experiment. |
