| | | It's easier with Cargo-Trailers The RoRo principle successfully in use in industry In press shop 1 at Volkswagen in Wolfsburg the task is to transport heavy items: coils, sheets of metal, tools. This is exactly what the Cargo-Trailer-System was designed for, a system for which there is almost no cost-effective alternative. | | |

| | | The term "ground-breaking" should normally be used very sparingly. The Ro/Ro (Roll-on/Roll-off) system developed by MAFI in the sixties is, however, worthy of this title. It set standards in merchant shipping around the world as it allows particularly fast loading and unloading. The name makes it clear: the goods on so-called roll trailers are simply rolled along the ramp to the ship using a tractor instead of heaving them onboard with a crane. A gooseneck is used for coupling between tractor and rolling platform. The same in industry as in ports The wide-ranging success of the Ro/Ro principle - roll trailers of this type are referred to simply as "MAFIs" around the world - prompted the supplier in Tauberbischofsheim to use this solution to develop a Cargo-Trailer-System for use especially in industry, for a range of loads and with various tractors, goosenecks and trailers. The Cargo-Trailer-System also only needs one person to operate it, specifically the driver, who does not need to get out of the vehicle even once. In terms of type, size and weight the range of Cargo-Trailers and superstructures is as varied as the goods they carry. | | |
