Ethernet RJ45 pinouts
The ANSI/EIA/TIA-568-1991 standard defines two pinouts: EIA/TIA T568A and EIA/TIA T568B. The more common standard is the T568B also called AT specification, previously called 258A. T568B is identical to T568A except that pairs 2 (orange) and 3 (green) are swapped. For 10BASE-TX and 100BASE-TX a 4 conductor cable is required for
1000BASE-TX 8 conductors are necessary.

Ethernet connection cables
To connect two Ethernet devices, two types of cables are necessary. The 1:1-cable and the cross over cable.
A 1:1 cable is necessary if a computer has to be connected to a hub or a switch.
DIOSWITCH, DIOSWITCH IP67 and DIOSWITCH MINI detect the RX/TX conductors themselves (autocrossing). Therefore both types of cables (1:1 or cross over) can be used.

Cross over cable
A cross over cable is necessary if two computers have to be connected directly (peer to peer), without using a Hub or a Switch or if two Hub's or Switches have to be connected for cascading.
