Lovejoy ROSTA Elastomeric Elements
In this catalog we show the details of four products in the Lovejoy ROSTA line: Tensioners
A full range of designs cover belt/chain tensioning needs up to sizes which can exert 1,124 lbs of force.Tensioners are available for applications where the temperature environment is up to 250ºF.Stainless steel, as well as Neoprene elastomers, are available for complete oil resistance. Sprocket/Idler Accessories TENSIONERS MOTOR BASES ANTI-VIBRATION MOUNTS SUSPENSION UNITS OSCILLATING MOUNTS
Lovejoy stocks single and double strand sprockets in the most popular ANSI chain sizes. These are hardened steel sprockets with a permanently lubricated bearing for quiet opera- tion.Three sizes of belt idlers are also available for use with the ROSTA tensioners. Belt Scrapers
An excellent adaptation of the tensioner, these belt scrapers are used on conveyor manufacturer systems to clean the surface of debris. The self-adjusting feature of the SE38 tensioner, along with aneconomical blade design, make this ROSTA product very efficient. Motor Bases
One of the newest additions to the ROSTA family, this utilizes a large element as a swivel orpivot mount for the electric motor V-belt drive. It provides not only the proper initial belt ten-sion and a self-adjusting motion to accommodate belt stretch, but also the ability to dampharmful vibrations or shock loads.Lovejoy also publishes a separate catalog, the Designers Handbook of ElastomericElements UPC #50190, which details other categories of ROSTA elements, such as: Suspension Units
Lovejoy ROSTA rubber suspension units are versatile spring systems that combine the func-tions of a spring, damper, and bearing in one unit. The rubber suspension units are torsionsprings with a progressive spring characteristic.Intended for use with springmounted (oscil-lating) components, they can absorb or transmit oscillating motion. They can be used for angles of oscillation of +/-30º and a frequency range of 30-2,000 oscillations per minute. Anti-Vibration Mounts
The Lovejoy ROSTA anti-vibration mountings are suitable for compression, tension, andthrust in any mounting position on the floor, wall or ceiling, depending on the equipmentbeing protected.Working as a rubber spring, the rubber elements convert the absorbed energy into heat by internal molecular friction. This effectively damps the system, unlike steelsprings. There are two styles of anti-vibration mountings. One works as a low frequency damper (4 to 11 Hz) for lever loading, utilizing a torsional or squeezing motion. The other works as amedium frequency damper (15 to 30 Hz) for pure tensile or pressure loading. These mount-ings are intended specifically for the isolation of both passive and active vibration, but can also effectively isolate noise. Oscillating Mounts
R The Lovejoy ROSTA oscillating mounting units are designed for the support or suspension of vibratory conveyors, screens, feeder apparatus, or other equipment actuated by an eccentric drive or oscillator manufacturer. The oscillating mountings work as rubber springs to assist in transmittingamplitudes to oscillating equipment with a directional rotary rocking motion. The spring char-acteristic of the mountings increases in amplitude while preventing excessive and uncon- trolled oscillation of the vibrating system.Due to the mountings’unique design, neither shear nor bending stresses occur at the support points, assuring long life.
