TYPICAL INSTALLATION - MODEL AMP420A & NOAMP-2
AMP 420A
Mount the AMP 420A and pass the conductor through the window. Either direction is okay.
Connect DC loop power.
12 Volt minimum 28 Volt maximum
Maximum connected impedance is 750 Ohms.
Select a full scale value. Unit is not damaged by an overload such as a starting inrush. Don't change full scale switches while current is flowing.
FOR LARGE MOTORS
Use external current transformer with a 5 Amp secondary. Pass the secondary through the window. Turn switch 3 on (5 Amp). Full scale is the value of the current transformer.

FOR SMALL MOTORS
Reduce full scale by passing the conductor through the window more times (turns). With 1 Amp switch on:
2 Turns = .5 Amps
4 Turns = .25 Amps
NOAMP-2
Mount the NOAMP-2 and pass the conductor through the window. Either direction is okay. There is no limit to the amount of current. Unit is not damaged by high current.
Connect 120 Volts to power the NOAMP-2.
Relays are shown:
No amps (or power off) - red LED is lit
Relays reverse for Amps flowing - green LED is lit
To change delay from 1.5 seconds to 42 seconds:
Remove cover
3 Phillips screws in base
Move the jumper
For heaters (especially zero crossing controlled) the longer delay is the better choice.

Note: The NOAMP-2 will work on the output of most drives. They shut off when set to zero speed. Some drives send a "hold current" to the motor when set to zero speed. The NOAMP-2 will show this as an ON condition.
