Text version of the page
The food and pharmaceutical industries
are subject to high standards of
cleanliness, hygiene and safety. These
extend to the coding and marking of edible
products and tablets with traceability
codes, product and promotional information.
Linx is able to supply two food grade inks
to meet these requirements.
The inks contain only edible raw materials
conforming to the United States Food
and Drug Administration (FDA) regulations.
When used with the non-contact
technology of Linx ink jet printers, these
inks offer a very safe and flexible means of
marking edible substrates.
This FDA compliant ink is offered in red
and blue.
Foodstuffs
The inks are based on edible dyes, and can
be used for coding directly onto eggs,
confectionery, food supplements and other
foods. They are also suitable for coding onto
packaging that comes into direct contact
with food.
Pharmaceuticals
Linx food grade inks are acceptable for
use in a wide range of pharmaceutical
applications.
For both food and pharmaceutical use of
food grade inks, specific regulations apply,
and these vary from country to country.
Some guidelines are included in the table
overleaf, but suitability should always be
checked locally with regulators prior to use.
