| Measuring principle The contact-less magnetic scanning of the toothed wheel target produces sine- and cosine wave signals that are evaluated by the integrated electronics and converted into incremental output signals. A speed-dependent output signal can be directly supplied as well. Properties of the magnetic system: ►The measuring scale used is a an unbreakable toothed measuringwheel of ferromagnetic steel. ►The metallic precision measuring wheel forms a fixed mechanical connection with the rotating axis, i.e. the steel shaft of the rotary encorder and is thus capable of safely resisting even the highest loads. ►The metallic unit composed of toothed measuringwheel and shaft easily copes with combined large temperature variations, strong vibrations and acceleration forces. ►An analog tachometer output signal can be suplied at the same time. The magnetic scanning principle is virtually free from ageing effects and insensitive to water, oil, dirt or also to undesired electromagnetic pulses. ►In conditions of high air humidity and varying ambient temperature, the physically defined dew point limit is fast reached. Condensate on the encoder disk often accompanied by an increased occurrence ofdirt effects has no effect on magnetic scanning. The magnetic measuring principle is dewpoint-proof. ►The positive properties of the magnetic rotary industrial encoders are complementary to one another in almost every respect. Incremental rotary encoders from Lenord + Bauer ensure high operational reliability even underchanging ambient conditions and fulfill the highest quality standards. |
