| | | THERMAL DEFORMATION DETECTOR The patented SPYLAPTM system makes it possible, in a simple and economic way, to guarantee and improve the quality of the lapping in terms of flatness. All lapping operations generate friction from contact between the parts, the plates and the conditioning rings. This friction leads to heating which produces a rise in the temperature of the parts and the plate, directly inducing a mechanical deformation of these elements (thermal dilatation). These deformations must be closely monitored because they have a direct impact on the quality of the lapping. Indeed, if the deformation is too important, the flatness of the lapped parts will no longer be acceptable. | |

| | ASPECT AND FUNCTIONING SPYLAPTM is a thermo-sensitive resin insert positioned on the conditioning rings in contact with the plate. It is BLACK in colour when not in use, but becomes RED as soon as it is subject to a temperature above the threshold established by our research and development laboratory. The SPYLAPTM detection temperature has been defined thanks to many tests carried out in our test laboratory and thanks to LAM PLAN's 45 years' of experience in terms of lapping and polishing. | |
