The Omni Family

GENERAL CHARACTERISTICS

All Omni terminal models are built onto the same high performance hardware platform. The ergonomic design makes the terminal easy to use whilst the Faradex housing, with incorporated conductive particles in the plastic base material, offers an excellent protection against electromagnetic interference (EMI).

Battery buffered memory guarantees data retention even in case of power failure.

Large graphical display with LED backlight offers excellent visibility.

The 8 function keys can be defined freely by the application software.

Terminals can easily be networked using one of the available communi-cation interfaces: • Ethernet for fast integration into your existing LAN; • Capnet for safe and reliable data communication with up to 255 terminals over distancesof up to 2 km; • RS232 for single terminal configurations or to connect remote locations(e.g. branch offices, yards) via a modem (analogue or GSM).

READER TECHNOLOGIES

The Omni family offers a broad range of reader technologies which allow you toselect the type of badge best suited for your application or to avoid extra costs re-using your existing badges. A wide range of cards and tags are available to suit virtually every application. Standard ISO style plastic cards, with or without magnetic stripe, can be surface printed using standard PVC card printers.

Contactless 125 kHz proximity reader for maintenance free operation.

ISO 14443A Mifare reader utilising either the unique card serial number or sector data with or without use of the Mifare Application Directory(MAD). Mifare technology has the capability to store multiple applicationson one card. The “one card does it all” concept finally is a reality.

Fingerprint reader operating in verification or identification mode.

Magnetic card reader (ABA ISO track 2).

Internal and/or external barcode reader.
