Few tips on engine lubrication:
Oil pan \
The engine oil is pumped into the various parts of the ' engine for lubrication including strainer and is collected to the oil pan for storage. It is the main function of the oil pan to store the engine oil before they are
pumped back again to the various engine parts.
Oil strainer
Oil strainer is placed at the intake of engine oil to eliminate impurities or dirt. Oil pump
Oil pump is driven by the engine to pump the engine oil up for lubrication.
Oil filter
Oil filters are placed in the engine's oil system to strain dirt and abrasive materials out of the oil. The function of oil filters is to prevent contaminants that may be contained in the lubricating oil and to supply the clean oil to the various parts of the engine.
Oil gallery
After flowing through the filter element, the filtered or clean oil passes directly to the main oil gallery.
Oil pressure switch
Operating with extremely low oil level (less than min.) or with low oil pressure due to clog lubrication system warning lamp on may cause serious engine
damage.
