| | | The RoaDyn P6xy TT (tire testing) System 2000 is a variant of the proven RoaDyn P6xy System 2000 measuring wheel. In combination with a universal wheel adapter the measuring wheel sensor can be operated specifically on tire and wheel test stands. This enables it to be used to measure the 6 components, Fx, Fy, Fz, Mx, My and Mz, while acting as a torque measuring shaft. The measuring wheel is mounted on the test stand like a standard wheel. In some circumstances an intermediate adapter is necessary, but the test stand itself does not have to be modified. This avoids the need for design changes or stand modifications when retrofitting with this system. The measuring system was developed in conjunction with the two-part universal wheel adapter (outside and inside part) specifically for use on tire and wheel test stands. The universal adapter allows direct mounting of different standard rims. To give it the universality of a measuring hub, the RoaDyn P650 TT System 2000 measuring system including the outside part of the universal adapter is permanently mounted on the test stand. The inside part of the universal adapter is available with different combinations of 4, 5, or 6 holes and is readily replaceable from the front without having to remove the entire measuring system. | | The signals are conditioned and digitized within the measuring system, then transmitted from the back to the System 2000 electronic control system using a near-field telemetry system to avoid wear caused by any contact. The fixed position of the non-contact angle encoder on the back of the wheel remains unaltered when the wheel is changed. Digital data transmission ensures optimal signal quality free from noise and interference. | | |
