Acquisitions and New Products
In realigning the Business Unit Vehicles we
seized the opportunity for focused expansion,
with MSC Automotive, Corrsys-Datron
GmbH and KT Automotive joining the Kistler
Group in the course of 2009. These acquisitions
turn Kistler into a market leader for
measuring systems in the growing crash test
and vehicle dynamics sector. They refl ect
a forward-looking strategy that is already
revving up for its fi rst success. The complete
instrumentation of three crash centers for
the Indian Automobile Industry is the biggest
project implemented by Kistler to date.
In spring 2009 the KiBox® created quite a
stir amongst engine developers.
2010 will see another milestone achieved
with maXYmo, the new monitor system for
industrial quality assurance.

It needs to be said that innovation and proximity
to the customer remain the cornerstones
of the success of Kistler and all its
customers.

50 Years of Success
2009 was the most economically diffi cult
year in Kistler's history. After the record
result of 2008, last year's downturn in the
automobile industry hit us hard.
Not really grounds for exuberant recognition
of our 50th Anniversary! We nevertheless
celebrated relatively modestly but with style,
placing more importance on investment in
the future. After all, fi ve decades commit us
to success.
Courage to Ensure Continuity
A staged, thorough economic program enabled
us to achieve one of our main aims of
largely avoiding downsizing and successfully
safeguarding our considerable accumulated
know-how. Our intact product range and
capacities will enable us to continue the Kistler
success story when the markets recover.
Systematic Approach to the Future
We continued on our unswerving course in
2009, with various important product innovations
and targeted acquisitions enhancing
Kistler's ability to supply complete systems.
We will consequently play an even more
consistent part in overcoming the technical
and ecological challenges of our times.
