| LB-Series Backscatter LIDAR systems measure atmospheric parameters (backscatter coefficient, extinction coefficient, optical depth) and processes (boundary-layer growth, aerosol and cloud layering, etc). The measurement principle of the LB-systems is based on elastic scattering processes by suspended aerosols (dust, water droplets, ice crystals, black carbon) and molecules of the atmosphere. The de-polarization feature provides information on the shape distribution of the backscattering particles. This allows for the discrimination between spherical and non-spherical aerosols. For example, water droplets and ice crystals in clouds and for the detection of dust and smoke particles. A scanning version of this Lidar system is available for full hemispherical 3D automated scanning of the atmosphere. This Lidar system is fully eye safe to IEC 60825-1 and still maintains up to 30 mJ per laser pulse. Combined with a 200 mm telescope, this ensures superior signal quality and effective measurement range. • Compact and portable • 200 mm receiving telescope • Weatherproof enclosure IP56 • Full 3D scanning available • Remote control The LB-Series Lidar systems are a compact and cost effective solution for many Lidar applications. |
