The first prints are examined in normal light, comparing them with the binding colour proof for a close appraisal. It is often necessary to readjust the ink settings. Ketterer has produced a customized solution for the basic and vernier adjustment of the print cylinders and ink rollers, consisting of a simple, low-cost manual mechanism. The gear unit is integrated in a customized housing equipped with a special gear system for simple adjustment of the rollers. The mechanism has almost zero backlash, in order to guarantee the necessary positioning accuracy. Extremely fine position adjustments are possible thanks to high gear ratio.
