Text version of the page
www.ketterer.de Friction welding is a highly efficient method of joining difficult-to-bind materials and combinations of materials. It is a method that has many applications, both for joining steel and cast materials and for joining ferritic and austenitic steel. For friction welding, at least one of the jointing components must have a rotation-symmetric shape at the joint. The energy comes solely from the relative motion of the jointing components under pressure. One component remains still and the other is made to rotate. The two components are thus joined together with the application of force but without any additional materials. One major advantage of this method is the avoidance of a molten stage in making the join, allowing the joining of very different combinations of materials. Ketterer successfully employs the friction welding method for its own production and also offers its know-how as a service. Give us a call and see for yourself!
