They are intended for applications where the user provides the scanning unit and the electronics to create a customized measuring or détection System. Glass gratings are available as linear scales up to 3400 mm length, as disco shaped scales with diameters of up to 400 mm, or in spécial géométrie configurations. The scale gratings are made of vacuum deposited chrome on a glass substrate. This process guarantees high accuracy and renders the scales extremely résistant to chemical and mechanical abrasion. In addition to the main incrémental track a second track with one or more référence marks can be applied. Thèse are used to establish référence positions along the main track. Absolute track with spécial grating patterns can be added also. Glass substrates are available in a variety of lengths, widths, diameters and thickness.
