Dioptres
denotes the power of refraction of
the lens. This value also determines
the ratio between the magnification
factor and the focal distance.
Focal distance
is the distance between the centre
of the magnifying glass and the
object observed, with no image
distortion.
Magnification factor
is the degree of magnification of the
object observed.
How is the magnification calculated?
The following formula can be used to
calculate the magnification factor:
The illuminated magnifying glass therefore
corresponds to a magnification of:
Some useful tips:
• The focal length and size of the
lens decrease with increasing
magnification.
• In order to achieve maximum,
distortion-free magnification, hold
the magnifying glass approx. 25 cm
from your eyes.
Illuminated magnifying glass
Illuminated magnifying glass
This illuminated magnifying glass is characterised
by several special features:
• A wide range of action – even large workpieces
can be observed
• A mobile magnifying glass unit – workpieces
can be observed from any angle
• Individually switchable lamps, a third lamp
can be switched on separately for perfect
illumination
• The light arrangement generates an even,
shadow-free light
• A distortion-free field of vision allows optimum
work under the magnifying glass
• Screw-fit lamp foot
• Ground lens made of optical glass
