Product Brief-ZigBee PRO Wireless Network Protocol Stack Overview ZigBee PRO is a network protocol stack defined by the ZigBee Alliance, designed for use in wireless sensor networks with extended requirements on reliabilrty, network size and density, and security. The stack, in conjunction with NXP's JN5148 wireless microcontroller and family of modules, provides a ZigBee Compliant Platform, the foundation for ZigBee certified products and multi vendor interoperable products. The JN5148 contains a high performance 32-brt microcontroller, a rich set of user peripherals, a 24GHz IEEE802.154 compliant radio, and offers sufficient memory for the stack, profiles and application to be integrated in a single chip. The extemal flash memory architecture allows for the storage of multiple firmware images to enable seamless field upgrading of firmware. The ZigBee PRO network stack supports star and mesh network topologies, and provides robust communication. Developed on the IEEE802.15.4 standard, which opérâtes in the globally unlicensed ISM 2.4GHz band, ZigBee PRO co-exists with Wi-Fi and Bluetooth.
