The sensing element is a high frequency oscillator, which can detect the speed of a rotating metallic pole wheel by influencing the oscillator behavior. This method allows quasi static sensing and works with almost every impeller wheel material (aluminum, titanium and steel). Available in various housing sizes and with remote or integrated electronics, DSH speed sensors operate over a wide voltage range of 8…30 VDC with short-circuit and reverse polarity protection. Ready to withstand temperatures up to 180°C, the DSH series is the perfect solution to detect speed on the compressor side of industrial turbochargers and power turbines.
