9 Introduction Product identity ITT Flygt uses a simple system to code and thereby identify its products. Each pump is given a code made up of two letters followed by four numbers, e.g PL 3127. The first letter refers to the pump’s hydraulic section, i.e., the impeller and volute. It also refers to the pump, as the impeller used determines the pump type. The second letter refers to the pump’s method of installation: semipermanent wet. The first four numbers refer to the pump’s model as well as specify its size in comparison to other pumps of the same type. Thus pump PL 3152 is larger than PL 3127. Impeller characteristic The pumps are divided into different classes according to their operating area; LT - Low head version MT - Medium head version HT - High head version ST - Super head version Impeller and volute Methods of installation Propeller designed for high flows at low and ultra low heads, for clean or slightly contaminated liquids. The backswept propeller blades, together with a unique relief groove in the pump housing, reduces the risk of clogging. P P 3000, P 7000. A semi-permanent installation. The pump is installed within a vertical steel or concrete column. P 4600 A semi-permanent installation. The pump is installed within a vertical steel or concrete column. L P
