COLD FORGED METAL PARTS ASSEMBLIES

Cold forging is a reliable andcost efficient process. The main advantages are the following: Our long-term experience in the production of different assemblies mainly for starter motors, alternators, DC motors and electronics is a guarantee for a competitive range of different assemblies. • savings in material and final machining, • high productivity, • excellent dimensional accuracy and surface quality of cold extruded parts,• improvement of mechanical properties of extruded parts, • favorable crystal grain flow increases toughness. Using 30 years experience in cold forgingtechnology Iskra Avtoelektrika manufacturesa wide range of cold forged parts from 50 grams to 1.5 kg on vertical presses of the capacity up to 1000 tons. Cold forging process also includes treatments like heat treatment, annealing andphosphating. The whole cold forging process iscarried out in Iskra plant in ©empeter in Slovenia assuring stability and high quality standards in accordance with QS-9000 (from 2005 ISO/TS 16949) and ISO 14001 standards. The range ofproducts includes parts made of low-carbon,carbon and alloy steel and aluminium alloys.

Our production range includesthe following assemblies: • Frame assembly with the yoke whose diameter ranges from 70 mm to 160 mm. Frame assemblies can include magnets or coils, depending on the application. • Drive assemblies for automotive and heavy-duty starter motors with output going from 0.9 kW up to 6.5 kW • Brush assemblies for various applications • Switches for automotive and heavy duty applications • Other parts (sheet metal, stator pack, ...)

The assemblies can be manufactured followingthe Iskra design, but we also have all R&D, Engineering and Quality support and all thenecessary flexibility to prepare a special solution for every customer and to manufacture partsaccording to the original customer drawings.

The main groups of producedcold forged parts are: • Parts for starter motors (pinion, barrel, solenoid body, plunger, core..) • Parts for alternators (claw pole..) • Parts for switches, valves and other applications • Parts for car seats • Anti vibration parts, spiders, inner races • Parts for flywheel magnetos and other motorbike parts • Parts from aluminium alloys • Different gears and other parts

Testing and control process: There are all necessary labs for mechanical andelectrical characteristics and measurement devices(3D, gages for dimensional measurements, measurements of hardness, roughness, coating layer thickness...) needed for incoming material inspection, production control and final productsinspection.All processes are run in compliance withQS-9000 and ISO 14001 (from 2005 ISO/TS 16949) quality standards and we always look forsolutions that improve environmental issues. Cold forged parts can be manufactured following the customer design, but upon requestIskra is also able to prepare its own designsolutions. In R&D and Engineering division our experts will work out the most suitable solution for every customer's need. The cold forged parts can also be finished by machining and by othertreatments (sand blasting, surface coating, zinc-plating...); we shall always try to meet customer's specific needs.
