Highlights ISCAR has added a new geometry to its line of small economical inserts. The new YNMG 1604… insert features a 25º corner angle. YNMG 1604… inserts fit into the standard pocket of VNMG 1604… inserts, which means that they can be clamped on any of ISCAR MVVNN … or MVJNR/L … tools. There is no need for any new tools, only the seat has to be replaced with 5567066 IYSN 322 seat.

Replacement of the standard 35° VNMG insert to the new 25° YNMG insert YNMG 1604… inserts are available with 0.4 and 0.8 mm corner radii and have an F3P chipformer which is designed for finishing applications. The inserts are made from SUMO TEC highly productive carbide grades IC8150 and IC8250.

YNMG 1604… inserts were designed for turning of very narrow V-shaped grooves, which is very common on multi-groove belt alternator pulleys, or when machining very steep conical shapes which cannot be machined by the standard VNMG 35º inserts. Machining in restricted areas where 35° inserts are no longer applicable.
