Contents and goals:

The participants will learn the design and functions of Simatic Plcs. They will confi gure and start up an S7 and an S5 PLC. They will understand the standardi- zed PLC structure and the corresponding programs. They will understand the differences between the single module types and the different program displays. The partici- pants will be able to deal with diagnosis possibilities. All these topics will be deepened by programming exercises. On the hardware side S5-95, S5-100 and S5-115 as well as S7-300 and S7-400 PLCs with the corresponding peripheral equipment will be used.Most exercises will be completed using each of the two PLC types, so that the participant can handle besides the current S7 PLCs the already existing S5 PLCs.
