The IM481H PLUS is ex cep tion al ly small, easy to in ter face and use, yet pow er ful enough to handle the most demanding ap pli ca tions. The IM481H PLUS has 16 built-in microstep res o lu tions (both binary and decimal). The resolution can be changed at any time without the need to reset the driver. This feature allows the user to rapidly move long dis tanc es, yet precisely po si tion the motor at the end of travel without the expense of high per for mance con trol lers. With the development of pro pri - etary and pat ent ed cir cuits, ripple current has been min i mized to reduce motor heating common with other de signs, allowing the use of low inductance motors to improve high speed per for mance and system ef fi cien cy. The IM481H PLUS, because of its ultra small size and low cost, can be used to increase accuracy and smooth ness in systems using higher step angle motors. In many instances me chan i cal gearing can be replaced with microstepping, reducing cost and elim i nat ing poten tial main te nance. The IM481H PLUS was developed to provide de sign ers with affordable, state-of-the-art technology for the com pet i tive edge needed in today’s market. INT-481 Interface Board HIGH PERFORMANCE ULTRA-MINIATURE MICROSTEPPING DRIVER IM481H Plus OPTIONS The INT-481 is an optional plug-on interface board which can be used with the IM481H PLUS to facilitate test ing, or in sit u a tions where panel mounting the IM481H PLUS is preferred. The INT-481 contains extra cir cuit ry which includes +5 VDC supply, opto isolators for step clock, di rec tion, enable and reset, along with ex tra fault de tec tion circuits, input capacitor, and fault and power LEDs. Wir ing is done through a 15 pin screw ter mi nal. A four position dip switch is sup plied for microstep resolution selection. The H-481 is a small, optional heat sink which mounts eas i ly to the IM481H PLUS or the INT-481H/ IM481H PLUS com bi na tion. Its compact size consumes only 4.3 cubic inch es (70.5 cu bic cm) of space. All required mount ing hard ware is in clud ed with the heat sink.
