Each fiber-optic connection can transmit 64 Float and 64 binary signals. I Uninterrupted operation of the SIMOLINK bus due to buffered power I Rugged design, easy mounting Properties The ibaBM-SLM device can be used to capture data from one or more Siemens frequency converters, which are connected via a SIMOLINK bus. The data captured with ibaPDA provide the basis for fast identication of errors from frequency converters and motor control optimization. Data capturing with ibaPDA-V6 ibaBM-SLM is connected to the ibaPDA PC via two unidirectional ber optic links. The integrated ibaFOB-D card converts the data. Each ber-optic connection can transmit up to 64 analog and 64 binary signals. Additional optional iba data capturing devices can be connected to the free FO inputs of the ibaFOB card. The data are captured on the ber-optic link synchronous to the SIMOLINK bus cycle. A notebook running ibaPDA can be used in parallel. The data to be measured are selected and congured with ibaPDA-V6. The ibaPDA computer or the notebook PC must be connected to ibaBM-SLM via a serial cable in order to transmit conguration data before measuring. This connection is not required during measurement. The SIMOLINK bus All SIMOLINK participants are connected in a closed ber optic ring topology, operating at 11 Mbps. A Siemens SIMOLINK Board is integrated in the ibaBM-SLM device to physically couple it to the SIMOLINK bus. The module supports uninterrupted operation of the SIMOLINK bus, even when the local ibaBM-SLM CPU fails. The master can read and write all slave telegrams. All the other participants are slaves, which can read all telegrams and write up to 8 own telegrams. Data types The following data types may be measured: I 16 bit integer (INTLOW and INTHIGH: -LOW indicates lower word, -HIGH indicates upper word of 32-bit data word) I 32 bit integer (DINT) I bit; via ibaPDA packed binary input through bit selection from 16-bit status words Each data type corresponds to a measuring value. Up to 128 analog (INT16; DINT) and 128 packed binary signals per ibaBM-SLM device can be transmitted to ibaPDA. Note: The SIMOLINK bus technology is discontinued by Siemens since August 2011. Hence, the device ibaBM-SLM is available only as spare part.
