Micro hydroelectric power plant Q The partners: Brammer France (a major distributor of industrial components) and Hutchinson Transmission, partners for many years, have combined their technical abilities to meet the needs of their customer, Mécamidi, (a French company based in Toulouse for more than 50 years, which designs and manufactures small and médium power hydroelectric power plants) by offering a new HPP™ (Hydro Power Plant) belt © Issues and objectives: Création of a micro hydroelectric power plant by MECAMIDI group Mécamidi wanted to design, develop and market a range of "turnkey" micro hydroelectric power plants (power output between 50 and 500 kW), to meet the needs of local programmes promoting the development of renewable énergies. The range had to offer the best possible value-for-money. Q Solutions: Existing solutions on the market (geared or belt driven speed increase mechanisms: classic flat, trapézoïdal or Poly V ® belts) were unable to meet the spécification.
