The HEINZMANN electric motor/generator for the diesel hybrid drive combines the know-how of the motor and turbine man­agement division with that of the electric drives division. As a specialist in control systems for diesel engines, HEINZMANN now offers a major contribution to this pioneering drive technology for the off-road application sector. HEINZMANN is currently developing hybrid con­cepts for industry, municipalities and the building industry thus being a partner to all Diesel engine manu­facturers.

unique way in which the electric machine works leads to a signifi­cant improvement in the efficiency of the entire drive system. When the electric machine is working as a motor, it draws power from the battery and transfers this to the drivetrain. Conversely, when operat­ing as a generator, it takes power from the drivetrain and uses this to recharge the battery. This means that it is possible to downsize the inter­nal combustion engine running at its most efficient operating point.
