Precision Boring Heads made of Aluminium

Flyweights fulfil highest demands in precision With the newly developed lightweight automatic balanced precision boring heads,KAISER underlines once more its competence in the field of finish boring. Theprecision boring heads EWB-AL are made of high tensile aluminium and are, due tothe hard coated surface, wear and scratch resistant.The boring range from Ø 100 – 203 mm is covered with only two models. The smallermodel EWB 100AL is designed for operations from Ø 100 – 153 mm, the larger EWB150AL for Ø 150 – 203 mm. In the system size CK6 the weight of this head is 1.78 kgonly. By mounting the insert holders upside down, both heads can also be used forback boring applications.The highly accurate self-balancing over the entire adjustment range guarantees avibration less operation with cutting speeds up to 2’000 m/min. The tools aretherefore best suited for the manufacture of precision bores with an excellent surfacefinish at highest spindle speeds.The boring heads are equipped with combined and accurate clamping for diametersetting and balancing mechanism. The ground and play free fitted micrometer spindleallows cutting edge adjustments with an accuracy of 0.01mm Ø and with vernier of0.002 mm Ø.Together with reductions and extensions also made of aluminium, the weight of longand large diameter tool combinations can be reduced by more than 50% - a decisiveadvantage for handling and during ATC of such tools.
