Experience Benefits The stick-on system is an innovation which has been extensively tested. It has been used in HBM transducer production for many years. It has been
applied successfully in high-accuracy transducers and mass-produced, low-
cost sensors. Strain gages with the stick-on option have a thin, consistent adhesive layer. This facilitates high-quality bonding which is one of the reasons for the excellent measurement properties of the gage.Advantages:One working step is saved during application of the gage.
Any risk of contamination, as well as uncertainty regarding the pot life and shelf life of liquid adhesives is eliminated. Procedure, in brief The procedure of surface preparation, clamping and curing is similar to working with classic hot-curing adhesives. Gage positioning is simple as the strain gage is dry and not sticky. Gage fixing is accomplished using a small piece of heat-resistant tape. Availability The stick-on option is available for all strain gages with the following specifications:Backing of glass-fiber-reinforced phenolic resin or Peek Strain gages with solder tabs only (i.e. without lead wires).
