Peek Options for strain gages Polyetheretherketone (Peek) is a more flexible backing, and is thus highly suitable for application on surfaces with a small radius. Peek has creep properties which are sufficient for most applications and offers excellent resistance to humidity. In addition to our standard program of open-faced and encapsulated gages, we offer several options, available on request:Nickel-plated copper leadsPolyurethane-insulated copper lead wires (in customized lengths) Teflon-insulated lead wiresSelf-adhesive versions, the so-called ”stick-on” strain gage, which is discussed in more detail below Glass-fiber-reinforced phenolic resin The optimal choice for transducer manufacture in most situations. The phenolic-resin backing is glass-fiber reinforced. This results in a gage with good creep properties. The stiffness of the backing that provides these excellent measurement properties necessitates careful handling of the gage. In most production environments and transducer applications this works well.

Strain Gages for Transducer Manufacturers - 6017 Stick-on (self-adhesive) strain gages

No additional adhesive is needed anymore for mounting the strain gage.
Commonly used strain gages (linear, shear, half bridge, can type) The basics Stick-on strain gages are supplied with an adhesive pre-coated on the bak- king. The adhesive is dry, thus facilitating easy handling and positioning of the gage.
