SYSTEM STARTUP FOLLOW THE PROCEDURE BELOW FOR CHANGING THE BAG FOR INITIAL BAG INSTALLATION.
WARNING: REMOVE PRESSURE FROM VESSEL BEFORE OPENING OR VENTING.
THE PIPING SYSTEM SHOULD BE PURGED OF AIR BEFORE FULL PRESSURE IS APPLIED .
1. Close the valve on the inlet and outlet of the duplex bag filter by moving the handle. 2. Open the vent located on the top of the bag filter away from the arrow on the handle. 3. Slowly, partially open the valves on the bag filter by partially moving handle. 4. Carefully vent all the air from the bag filter. Close the vent when liquid begins to discharge. 5. Fully open the valves by fully moving the handle. The system is now in operation. When the bag become “loaded” with solids it must be replaced. A Hayward pressure differential gauge should be installed on the filter because when the differential pressure reaches 15 psig it indicates that the bag requires changing.
NEVER DISASSEMBLE THE DUPLEX BAG FILTER WHILE THERE IS FLUID IN IT. DRAIN ALL PROCESS FLUID BEFORE REMOVING THE COVER.
TO CHANGE THE BAG:
1. Move the operational handle to change the active filter. 2. Open the drain on the inactive bag filter . 3. Slowly open vent to fully drain the inactive bag filter. 4. Remove inactive bag filter cover. 5. Remove the polypropylene bag retainer and then the bag. 6. Install the new bag, the polypropylene bag retainer and the cover.

Repeat steps 3-6 under start-up
