Options and Accessories
Filter Box
The addition of the filter box section to the gas air make-up unit enables tempered and filtered air to be brought into the building. Available for all models. Disposable or washable filters are available.
Door Guards
Provide guarding of the internal drive assembly, by limiting access to the interior of the unit.
Discharge Safety Guard Insulated Housings
Single wall pinned insulation.
Burners
Special burners are available for two-speed and low gas pressure operation. Standard burner length can be modified to increase or decrease standard heat rise.
Gas Regulators
Various sizes and pressure capabilities available.
Vibration Isolators
Spring type or rubber-in-shear available.
Perimeter Curb Mount
Accommodates weather and leakage protection when the unit is mounted on a full perimeter pre-fabricated roof curb.
Pre-fabricated Roof Curb
Full perimeter mount with built-in wooden nailer strip that facilitates fastening the unit to the curb. Includes a rigid 1-1/2" thick, 3-pound density glass fiber liner, which eliminates condensation problems. 1/2" Neoprene sealer strip is standard. Construction is galvanized steel with fully welded seams.
Horizontal Inlet Weatherhood
Effectively prevents the entry of weather during operation, and is designed to mount directly to the inlet of the unit that is installed horizontally outdoors; or when the unit is mounted horizontally indoors the weatherhood can be attached to the outside wall of the building. See page 10, installation type HI1 & HI2, HO1 & HO2 and V1.
Vertical (Roof) Inlet Weatherhood
These hoods are used when the unit is installed below the roof, and the weather hood is curb mounted above the roof. The four-sided roof ventilator hood is a low velocity design to prevent entrainment of water, and is constructed of galvanized steel. This style hood can be used on models GFC 2,000 through 75,000 CFM. Connecting duct to the unit, by others. See page 10, installation types HI3 and HI4.
SAFETY ACCESSORIES, APPLICATION AND USE WARNING
The safe application and use of equipment supplied by Hartzell Fan, Inc. is the responsibility of the installer, the user, the owner, and the employer. Since the application and use of its equipment can vary greatly, Hartzell Fan, Inc. offers various product types, optional safety accessories, and sound performance data per laboratory tests. Hartzell Fan, Inc. sells its equipment with and without safety accessories, and accordingly, it can supply such safety accessories only upon receipt of an order. The need for safety accessories will frequently depend upon the type of system, fan location and operating procedures being employed. The proper protective safety accessories to meet company standards, local codes, and the requirements of the Occupational Safety and Health Act must be determined by the user since safety requirements vary depending on the location and use of the equipment. If applicable local conditions, standards, codes or OSHA rules require the addition of the safety accessories, the user should specify and obtain the required safety accessories from Hartzell Fan, Inc. and should not allow the operation of the equipment without them.
Owners, employers, users and installers should read "RECOMMENDED SAFETY PRACTICES FOR USERS AND INSTALLERS OF INDUSTRIAL AND COMMERCIAL FANS" published by the Air Movement Control Association, Inc., 30 West University Drive, Arlington Heights, Illinois 60004. A copy of this publication is enclosed with each fan shipped from Hartzell Fan, Inc., and is available upon request at Hartzell's office in Piqua, Ohio 45356.
Please contact Hartzell Fan, Inc. or your local Hartzell representative for more information on product types, safety accessories, and sound performance estimates.
Remember, the selection of safety accessories and the safe application and use of equipment supplied by Hartzell Fan, Inc. is your responsibility.
Vertical Unit Inlet Weatherhood
This hood is used when the make-up air unit is mounted vertically on the roof. The hood is mounted to the inlet of the unit, and the complete unit is then mounted on a roof curb (roof curb furnished by Hartzell or by others). The four-sided roof ventilator hood is low velocity design to prevent entrainment of water, and is constructed of galvanized steel. This style hood can be used on models GFC 2,000 through 30,000 CFM only. Transition from the hood to the unit by Hartzell, installation type V2, see page 10.
2- and 4-way Diffusers
Direct the discharge airflow.
Motor Operated Shutter
Prevents the entry of outside air when unit is not in operation.
