| | | General The measuring system type 2877 is designed for determining the capacitance and dielectric dissipation factor of liquid and solid insulants, cables, capacitors, line transformers, generators, motors, bushings etc. Furthermore it can also be used for power loss measurement on shunt reactors or similar apparatus. This system is suitable for both low and high voltage measurement at line frequency. Fully automatic balancing of the bridge section is achieved by microcomputer and the measurement value is displayed on the LCD (liquid crystal display) which is built into the front panel. Operation is achieved with maximum user friendliness, thanks to the simple screen menus and on-line help, via the scratch resistant front panel. Measurement reports can be printed via the parallel port (Centronics) interface. An external computer can also be connected via the RS-232C or optional IEEE 488 interfaces for control and data acquisition purposes. This measuring equipment has been specially developed to maximise efficiency in production and quality control environments. Its outstanding accuracy also makes it suitable for laboratory and research applications. Design The instrument is supplied in a portable housing and comprises a bridge section and a microcomputer. The LCD display with backlight and the membrane keyboard are easily accessible and clearly arranged on the front panel. Measurement cables for connection to the test object, comparison standard and standard capacitors are not included in the scope of supply. | | |
