Text version of the page
Incremental encoders are the most common types used in the industry due to the simplicity of their use. Each encoder is comprised of an optical disc with the required number of lines together with an (HRS) reading system coupled with a single L.E.D. for longer life, reliability and enhanced performance. Ether speed or relative position can be determined by monitoring the frequency or the number of pulses generated by the encoder.
