GE Digital Energy Intellix SM310 Three Phase Smart Meter Advanced Metering Applications Three Phase Direct Connect Meter The SM310* from GE is a highly functional smart meter designed for direct connect installations. The meter features a 100 A supply disconnect relay, with 40 A and 2 A load control relays as options, enabling complete demand management. With a modular AMI architecture that supports replacement of communication technology without breaking the main meter seals, the SM310 is an ideal choice for your demanding three phase advanced metering applications. Modular AMI Compartment The SM310 provides an AMI compartment to support modular communications capability. The meter is capable of housing a range of back-haul communication technologies. Replaceable without the need to break the metrology seals of the meter, the SM310 protects your meter investment from future changes in communication technology by supporting upgrading of the AMI module installed in the meter. Metrology and Summations The SM310 can be configured for various metering needs, including demand, load profile, and time of use (TOU). Measurement and storage of delivered or received active energy, leading or lagging reactive energy, and summations of these quantities provides full visibility to energy usage at the premise. Load Management The main 100 A disconnect relay can be locally or remotely opened and closed to provide utilities with the ability to manage situations such as supply capacity control, changing of tenants at a premise, or management of customers that have failed to pay required bills. The optional load control relays support disconnection of discretionary loads—such as pool pumps and hot water systems that can be disconnected on demand or on schedule—to alleviate strain on the electricity network. The relay options are extremely valuable in managing supply at residential installations where three phase power is used more for some heavier equipment than used in a typical residence. An additional boost facility provides consumers with a short-term override to load control, if permitted by the utility. Features • Direct connect AMI capable three phase meter • Class 1 accuracy for active energy • Class 2 accuracy for reactive energy • Supply and load control relay options • Modular AMI compartment
