A/C Refrigerant Temperature Sensor

General Description: Durability:
GE Automotive controls temperature sensors provide low cost temperature control for many automotive applications. The sensor uses NTC thermistor to sense the temperature of the media and provide a resistance output.
Typical Applications:
Provides analog signal for clutch cycling (low side) or for condenser fan control and high temperature/pressure cutout (high side) and/or for low charge detection.

Technical Data

Sensor Type:
Negative temperature coefficient thermistor, in direct contact with fluid, using fused glass seal around leads. 500,000 pressure/temperature cycles.
Supply Voltage:
5V regulated (typical)
Environmental:
- Meets typical underhood requirements for temperature, vibration, shock, salt spray, humidity and fluid compatibility.
Resistance:
2795 Ohms 2.5% at 25 C Beta = 4111 2.5% E.G. 0 Deg C - 9406 ohm 25 Deg C - 2795 ohm 100 Deg C - 177 ohm
Typical Mounting:
- Mechanical connections are line mounted “female” or compact “M12 thread male” configuration (pictured) for line or compressor mounting.
Typical Performance: Electrical Connection:
- Electrical connectors are two terminal, sealed, underhood designs, e.g., Packard Electric “Micropack” #12092512. 1.0 C (low side) 2.0 C (high side)
Response Time:
Application dependent; 20 seconds in “Still Air” following step change.
