Slip Ring ESR 160 Product features Transfers power currents, signals and data streams Very low transfer resistance High contact quality Extremely low electrical noise Highly wear-resistant due to low contact forces Long lifespan without mechanical maintenance High operational safety even with vibrations and under extreme temperatures Design and function Changes in the sense of the technical progress reserved. rev: 07/2006 The contact pairing of gold spring wires and gold-plated slide contacts means that the electrical slip rings in the ESR series possess excellent characteristics for the transfer of power currents, signals and data, with a long lifespan and compact construction. The gold/gold technology and perfect surface quality ensure maximum contact quality and corrosion resistance, while also ensuring that transfer resistance remains low. The electrical transfer element of the slip ring is protected by a robust aluminium housing and enclosed ball bearings with an additional seal. This construction fulfils the requirements for protection class IP64 (up to IP65 upon request). This means the electrical slip rings in the ESR series are suitable for reliable use in rough applications and under harsh operating conditions. ESR 160 series Slip rings in the ESR series are used to transfer electrical current and signals, as well as digital data from different BUS systems. Operating voltages [mV] up to 750 volts are permissible. All slip rings in this series are also available with air connection. Other media can be transferred through a combination with all GAT media rotary unions. The ESR slip rings from GAT are characterised by their long lifespan and maintenance intervals. The 160 model, with a maximum of 80 poles, is suitable for a wide range of applications. Signals from several bus systems can be transmitted in parallel. This diversity makes the 160 model ideal for packaging machines, tooling machines and umbilical winches.
