The Auteldac 101 (I.S.) push button
telephone, purpose-designed for
underground coal mining installation and
use, provides automatic dialling via a
surface interface into a standard PAX or
PABX surface exchange. Its ruggedised,
welded steel casing with stove-enamel
coating is saline resistant. The
telephone is made of glass filled
polyester with polycarbonate handset
and stainless steel or curly cord. Impact
resistant, it is sealed to IP66. Twin
speakers give over 90dB SPL for ringing
and when used as a loudspeaker unit
under emergency conditions.
The all-electronic internal module is
conformal coated for reliability. An easily
accessible Ni-MH battery module in each
telephone provides the internal audio
amplifier's operating supply. Batteries
are trickle charged from the telephone
line.
Connection is via a simple twisted-pair
cable that can be contained within a
multi-core if required. Up to three
telephones can be connected for 'partyline'
working from one line pair by a fourcore
link.
Operation is simple, with finger guide
holes to eliminate mis-dialling, even
when wearing thick gloves. An easily
distinguishable button operates an
emergency alert (to an Emergency desk,
if fitted).
The telephone may be configured for
both DTMF and LD dialling. On DTMF,
using the STAR, HASH and RECALL
buttons, all the exchange's facilities can
be used.
Immediate re-dialling is achieved by use
of the RECALL button.
