SBS Temperature Cable
Description The SBS (Stimulated Brillouin Scattering) Temperature Cable makes use of the inherent temperature sensitivity of the Fibre. One single
fibre can replace thousands of point sensors thanks to the distributed sensing concept. This concept refers to the use of a single optical fibre as a linear uninterrupted sensor providing multiple sensing points distributed over the whole fibre length. The fibre is inserted into a stainless steel capillary with a diameter of 3 mm. The capillary is filled with a special gel which keeps the fibre in a loose tube configuration. This loose tube configuration maintains
the fibre stress free over the complete operating conditions. Features The SBS
Temperature sensor can measure distributed temperatures with a resolution of 0.1 °C and an accuracy of 2°C. The maximum
temperature range is 200°C. Applications Pipeline Monitoring,
process control,…
