Designed to evaluate forged
bearing races for cracks and prosity
one part at a time in the system.
The part is positioned in the
test station on top of three carbide
rods that allow the part to rotate.
An idler wheel is pneumati-
cally operated from the inside of
the dial forcing the part against two
polyurethane coated drive wheels
that cause the part to rotate.
The OD probe is located be-
tween the drive rolls and is on a
driven precision slide that scans the
part OD.
The Eddy Current probe is connected to a STATOGRAPH ECM that monitors background
signals to verify operation, rotation and the reject limit that signals the P aw.
A Clearance Compensation Card is included to automatically adjust the sensitivity
of the STATOGRAPH ECM for variations in the air gap or lift-off.
At the completion of the test, the rotation is stopped and the part released for index
If the part is accepted, it is pushed from the dial by a pneumatic arm into the exit
track.
If the part is rejected, it is unloaded at the reject station onto the reject track.
