F L E X I T A L L I C L I M I T E D PO BOX 3 MARSH WORKS DEWSBURY ROAD CLECKHEATON WEST YORKSHIRE BD19 5BT TEL: 01274 851273 FAX: 01274 851386 PRODUCT REFERENCE: FLEXITALLIC THERMICULITE 894 DESCRIPTION: FLEXITALLIC Thermiculite 894 is a flexible gasket based upon the proprietary Thermiculite sealing material used in the Flexitallic Thermiculite critical service series of products and has all of the performance capability of that series. It is made by over-knitting strips of foil used in the manufacture of Thermiculite 835 spiral wound gasket with a fine (0.09 mm diameter) Inconel 600 wire and then braiding a number of those Thermiculite/Inconel strips to produce a square section sealing material available in coil form. SERVICE: FLEXITALLIC Thermiculite 894 is intended for service in applications where an asbestos rope or plaited asbestos packing would previously have been used. Such applications include the manufacture of nitric acid and ammonium nitrate fertilizer. It can also be used for on-off valve stem sealing and as the header rings either side of a conventional valve stem sealing stack. In the latter instance it may be beneficial for the Thermiculite 894 to be of a lower than standard weight per unit length so that the friction created is lower than otherwise: lower weight per unit length material is available to special order. pH Range: 0 to 14 Temperature limit: 10500 C (19200 F) AVAILABILITY: The following square section material is available in coils: mm 6.0; 9.5; 12.5; 19.0 Rectangular cross-sections are possible; please ask about particular requirements.
