Size Range for Seamless Tubing www. f i n e t u b e s . com w w w. f i n e t u b e s . c o m Introduction Titanium 3Al/2.5V alloy (Ti325) has a higher mechanical strength than commercially pure Titanium. In the Cold Worked and Stress Relieved (CWSR) condition, these properties are substantially higher than in the annealed condition. Because of its good hot working properties and cold formability by rolling, it is an ideal choice for seamless hydraulic tubing in the aerospace industry. Ti325 has a close packed hexagonal, near alpha, structure which is capable of developing unique texture orientation by tube rolling techniques with enhancement of certain properties. This enables the tube manufacturer to produce a balanced condition exhibiting good bending characteristics with optimum fatigue properties. Ti325 has an excellent strength in the annealed condition which, combined with its corrosion resistance in certain media, makes it suitable for many other non-aerospace applications. Applications in medical, biotech, chemical, offshore, measuring instrumentation and lightweight mechanical structures such as bicycle frames are ideal for this materials.
