Singlemode Pigtails & Patchcords

• Facilitate fiber into system integration in non-PM and undemanding PM applications

Fibercore offers pigtail and patchcords for general specialty singlemode applications where polarization guidance is not required, with quality terminations that can optically perform with the small cores that are common with specialty fibers. Pigtails and patchcords are available with SM and all other Fibercore fibers. We also offer an alternative range of PM connectors for HB fibers, where tolerances are not quite so highly specified, suitable for all projects in which the premium quality of Diamond® connectors is not essential.

Note: Typical performance figures indicated are for fibers at 1310-1550nm wavelengths. With all connectors performance may vary slightly between fibers due to parameters such as wavelength or core diameter. Mode-field mismatch can also lead to elevated insertion loss between dissimilar fibers. Additional information for specific combinations is available on request.

Ordering Specialty Fiber Pigtails & Patchcords

All of our Specialty Singlemode Fibers are available with connectors. To order pigtails or patchcords (jumpers), please use part numbers in this format:

(1) Connector Type (End 1) - FC, DIN, SC, E2000

(2) Polish - PC or APC

(3) Fiber Range - HB, SM, DF, etc

(4) Fiber Type - 450, 600, 800(4.2/80), 1500(4.2/125), etc

(5) Fiber length in metres

(6) Jacket - LT3 or 900 (900 |jm loose-tube)

(7) Connector Type (End 2) - FC, DIN, SC, E2000

(8) Polish - PC or APC

(9) Patchcord type - Dia (Diamond) or Gen (Generic)

For example: FC-APC-HB-600-10-LT3-DIN-APC-Dia would be a Diamond HB600 patchcord, 10 metres in length, jacketed with LT3 (a 3 mm ID, aramid-yarn reinforced PVC sheath) and terminated with an FC connector at one end and a DIN connector at the other. Both connectors would be 8° APC polished to give -70 dB return loss. If you just need a pigtail, simply omit the second connector (7).
