Choosing the réduction ratio
The reduction ratio must be selected accor-ding to the desired output speed of the gear-box, considering that with DC motors this speed varies linearly in function of the applied
load.
In order to semplify the selection, for each ty­pe of motor we provide, in addition to the no­minal (no load) speed, the information of the speed at max. efficiency. M80 motor at 12 Vdc:
- no-load speed: 5500 rpm
- max. efficiency speed: 3850 rpm M80 motor at 24 Vdc:
- no-load speed: 6800 rpm
- max. efficiency speed: 5640 rpm Example:
for a desired gearbox output speed of 50 rpm with a 12 Vdc motor, the ratio will be as fol-lows:

N.B. As the gearbox efficiency names accor-ding to the selected ratio. It is not considered in the above calculations.
