Explosion protection (ATEX)
Participants learn about the various designations in accordance
with the explosion protection directive 94/9/EC
(ATEX 95/100) and what they mean and can make classifications
for simple hazardous systems and areas. They can
identify and assess the differences between potentially
explosive gas and dust atmospheres and become familiar
with the underlying standards and guidelines. They also
learn about the structure of an explosion protection document
and how to interpret these documents. Finally, they
will be able to assess the operating conditions of the
different components on the basis of their specifications
and use them for their own work tasks.

Safety Integrity Level (SIL)
Participants learn about the various methods of Safety
Integrity Level (SIL) classification and will be able to make
these classifications for simple systems. They can assess
the influence of the service life of a component or system
on the SIL. They also learn about the underlying standards
and guidelines. Finally, they will be able to assess
the pros and cons of the different system approaches
and use them for their own work tasks.
